Sarah Spencer
Sarah Spencer is a holistic trauma informed occupational therapist with a passion for neuroscience and the healing arts with over 20 years of pediatric occupational therapy experience. She utilizes the bottom-up approach to engage, integrate, and rewire the nervous system as related to emotional and movement actions and reactions. She specializes in sensory integration and movement disorders as related to low tone and motor planning. Certified by the University of Southern California in Sensory Integration, she has also studied Therapeutic Listening, Yoga for the Special Child, Handwriting Without Tears and Feeding Disorders. She is a co-owner of a successful pediatric therapy company in upstate NY and has been successfully treating children in the USVI since 2021.
Sarah is a mother to three children and three dogs. She finds passion, love, and a sense calm in the depths of this crazy journey that she calls life. When out of the office, she can be seen relaxing with family, hiking with the dogs, snorkeling in the waters of the Caribbean, and fire-walking. She uses an eclectic approach to healing that incorporating her own journey as a parent of a neurodivergent child coupled with the knowledge she has gained over the past 24 years from clinical practice and education.
Hannah Klute
Hannah Klute is an occupational therapist with a passion for helping children and their families reach their highest potential through play-based and strengths-focused therapy. Hannah graduated from Washington University in St. Louis in August 2022, specializing In pediatric occupational therapy and Early Intervention services. After completing some of her clinical work under the supervision of Sarah, she fell In love with the Island and people on St. Croix.
Hannah lives with her partner and her dog, Lana. Outside of work, she can be seen relaxing with family, walking Lana on the beach, snorkeling in search of turtles, and crafting to decorate her home. She uses a family-centered approach to promote children's growth and help each child find success in day-to-day life. She can’t wait to meet your child and family soon!
Christine Mason
Meet Christine “Kiki” Mason, licensed Occupational Therapist and NeuroSomatic Flow teacher. Christine uses neuroscience, flow, and nature-based teachings, movement and dance as the foundation of her therapeutic practice.
Christine infuses mind-body offerings within a therapeutic and nurturing space to promote a healthy and integrated approach to therapy, where sessions are child-centered and adapted for optimal learning potential. Her training in Brain Gym, Kinesiology and neurosomatics gives a strong clinical and practical lens for treatment applications.
With over 15 years in pediatric/school-based therapy, Christine’s uniquely playful and grounded style creates a supportive environment to explore creativity with joyful expression.
Christines’s passions also include dancing with fire and sharing it as a therapeutic tool for others to gain more awareness and develop a greater sense of calmness within. Christine is also the co-owner of Villa Larimar, a healing retreat and wellness center on the beautiful island of St. Croix, US Virgin Islands.
Dr. Colleen Bowles
Dr. Colleen M. Bowles D.O. was born in Massachusetts, raised in Nebraska. She received her medical degree from the College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific in California and completed residency via the joint program at the University of Nebraska Medical School and Creighton University. Dr. Bowles has been a practicing board certified pediatrician for 15 years. As a pediatrician, she specializes in providing comprehensive care for infants, children, and adolescents, addressing their unique needs throughout all developmental stages. Physical health, developmental progression and mental wellbeing are all addressed in the care that Dr. Bowles provides to her patients. Dr. Bowles completed her Masters of Healthcare Administration in 2021. Since then, she has served as the medial liaison to Jefferson County schools in Colorado, the clinical medical director of Rocky Vista University’s PA program, the clinical site director of STRIDE community health care in Wheat Ridge, Colorado and is now the medical director for Sensational Kids Pediatric Therapy. Currently Dr. Bowles lives in Frederiksted, USVI with her husband, two children and three dogs. She enjoys swimming, running and traveling. She speaks English, Spanish and a little Italian.
Shaleece Royall
Shaleece is a superhero.
As she navigates the highs and lows of raising her two boys with her husband on the vibrant island of St. Croix, and having grappled with the intricacies of insurance, therapy options, medical professionals, daycares, and schools, she intimately understands the overwhelming nature of the journey when raising a child with special needs.
Acquainted with the burden of misinformation and unsolicited advice, Shaleece values the importance of shared experiences in fostering genuine understanding. Throughout her personal journey, Shaleece has traversed the gamut of emotions, from initial shock and denial to eventual joy and fulfillment. Acknowledging the challenges of autism, insomnia, sleep deprivation, eating disorders, stress, non-verbal and communication challenges, she emphasizes the significance of self-care and emotional well-being.
When a child has special needs, the entire family has special needs. This is where Shaleece shines as a parent advocate at Sensational Kids Therapy.
Shaleece enjoys morning coffee, yoga, reiki, dancing, swimming, lyra, crystals, festivals, and singing loudly in the car!
Debra Hendrickson
A native of the beautiful island of St. Croix. Debra enjoys working with children and spending time with children.
As a mother of four and grandmother of one she understands and appreciates children of all ages.
After working for many years in a refinery she truly enjoys working with the children at sensational kids therapy as the office manager.
When not at work she can be found cooking, traveling, reading, spending time attending and serving on various committees at her church or just spending time with family friends and church family.
